  • Highly Rated, Dependable
Style: Compressor
My old clunky compressor of 30 years finally died. I wanted a new one that was portable, but still strong enough to use for larger jobs not jus inflate tires and balls. The reviews on this one was good so that's what I chose. Great decision! It's small enough to transport in the suv if I need to, and large enough to spray paint my 2 story house. I love the size, weight, strong motor, 2 hose hookups, and ease of use, Oh! and it is not all that loud. ... show more

  • Good and Small Compressor That Is Able to Tackle Most Jobs
Style: Compressor
I've been using this Dewalt (DWFP55126) 165 PSI, 6 gallon, pancake air compressor weekly for almost a year. The One I have has the yellow handle and the two white faced needle gauges. Apparently now there is a lower quality version 2 out there. My first impression when taking this out of the box was not the best. The compressor is not snug to the tank. There is some play. Every time you pick it up by the handle there is a slight shift and a thud. It moves maybe a 1/4", but it's enough to give you that shock feeling the tank is about to fall off. I almost thought about exchanging it, but everything else with the unit was fine and didn't want to go through the hassle of back/forth shipping. The unit overall is pretty good. I like the built in cord holder, regulator, two outlets, dual gauges, large rubber feet, and quarter turn (presumably brass ball valve) drain valve. This is overkill for my regular usage which is to keep tire pressures on point weekly. But I wanted a unit capable of 150 PSI with at least a 5 gallon tank for any time that I may need it around the garage or for a home project. My motivating factor in purchasing this unit was to replace my Porter Cable C2002 which has nearly identical specs to this Dewalt one. It was a couple of years past the printed tank expiration date and was extremely loud. I've been using Porter Cable C2002 air compressors for years at work and at home, and I have been very happy with their quality and performance. The only things that I wanted improved upon from the Porter Cable C2002 was the noise level, the screw type drain valve, and better rubber feet. The Dewalt DWFP55126 seemed to be the solution. It has a noise rating of 75.5 dBA compared to Porter Cable's 82 dBA, better rubber feet, and a better drain valve. Sadly I wish I had ponied up more and gone with one of the ultra quiet air compressors like the ones from Campbell Hausfeld, California Air Tools, or Stealth that are rated at only 60-68 dBA, but at the time it was tough to justify spending double the price to save 10 dBA. Now I am starting to think the lower dBA would have been money well spent on something that I will be using weekly for years to come. ... show more

I am thrilled with the performance of the compressor I recently purchased. Right from the first use, it proved to be a powerful and reliable equipment. I was pleasantly surprised by its ability to reach the desired pressure quickly, significantly enhancing efficiency in my tasks. Moreover, the noise level is remarkably low compared to other models I've used in the past, making its operation much more comfortable. • Leaking DEWALT DWFP55126 Compressor
Style: Compressor
Amazon Prime as always was great. Quick delivery and even faster return with replacement compressor. No problem there at all. The first compressor leaked after filling it up. It would drop 25 PSI in about 20 minutes and continue to drop. I returned it to Amazon and they had a replacement out in 2 days. I filled the replacement compressor up and it leaked even faster than the first one. There are only three (3) connections associated with the tank that can leak. Two were leaking. I put some soapy water on the connection coming out of the Tank and it immediately began to blow bubbles. I put some soapy water on the connection going to the gauges and it blew bigger bubbles. I did not check any more of the gauge connections or the drain. I was going to return the Dewalt compressor to Amazon again but then decided that if it could be fixed I would go that route. I did not want to get a third compressor that leaked. A Dewalt factory service center is only 15 minutes from my house so I decided to drop it off. I should get it back in 5 to 7 days and hopefully that will be the end of it, if not I will return it and buy a Makita. It seems that Dewalt must have some new factory workers that have not been trained correctly or there is a QC problem somewhere along the line. Somewhere in manufacturing there is a solution to the problem. Two leaking compressors in a row only tells me that there are a lot more in the pipeline. --------------------------------------------------- Got the compressor back from the factory service center after only 3 days. The compressor filled quickly to 165 psi and then over the course of about 3 hours dropped to 150 psi where it remained for 24 hours which is when i stopped watching it. I am satisfied with the fix that Dewalt made and look forward to using it. I would upgrade the star rating other than the hassle I had to go through on a brand new compressor. ... show more
