  • Amazing little saw!
Purchases this for clearing trails and carrying with me on my ATV and SXS while out in the woods. I have professional serious gas chainsaws and wanted something light and easy to toss in the back of my UTV. I've now used this saw multiple times and ran it through several batteries and all I can say is wow. I'm in love. I havent even looked at my gas saws since this baby arrived. Battery life is impressive, but I purchased 2 of the 9.0amp hour batteries in addition. They seem to last forever. I have yet to need more than 2 batteries out all day in the woods. I have had no issues with bar oil leaking like others have mentioned... but I also clean it after heavy use. Simple enough. The saw is light and easy to carry around and is impressive with what it'll cut. I cut a few downed trees up this saw should have had no business cutting but I tried and not only did it work, it worked amazingly well. One tree was 30 inches diameter. Had to cut both sides but it handled it no problem! The chain hasn't need sharpened yet and probably has a solid 4 hours of use on it. Still sharp. I know it's expensive I was apprehensive about buying it due to the price...don't be. Just buy it and thank me later. ... show more

  • It saved my life!
I would recommend this to EVERY responsible adult! I cut down two medium size trees, cut the limbs off, and cut the trunk all the way thru… still had 2/3 battery left. One tree hit me and knocked me off my feet… the chainsaw stops instantly when the trigger is not pressed… the saw hit my head and hand… because the saw stopped instantly, I didn’t even have a scratch. It has amazing cutting power, you do not need tools to tighten the chain, you can remove the entire bar with no tools, it’s extremely good quality cut. The cutting power and durability will surprise You! It’s extremely powerful, and has safety features that are easy to operate, works well, and on the rare case that you have an accident, the safety features may just save your life as it did mine. Please be responsible, and understand the trees that I was cutting were more than 12 inches thick, on the side of a mountain, and it preformed as good or better than a gas powered chainsaw. I was thoroughly impressed, and extremely grateful for the purchase! Again be prepared for the real deal, this is NOT a toy and has amazing power. Thanks and don’t forget, please be responsible. Worst part… I left it in the barn for a week… it leaked 10 drops of bar oil. I’m super satisfied with my purchase ... show more

  • Great saw but leaks bar oil

  • Great product for Money
Love the ease to use. Needs at least one extra battery to have one charging while using the one in the machine. Decent run time per battery. Handled hardwood up to 16-18" easily. Love the lighter weight, quieter use. No more fighting keeping the chainsaw running. Had a dual fuel before and was always struggling with keeping it running. ... show more

  • 16 inch blade is just right, the 60 volt power gives it the power to cut
Very pleased with item. We haven't used it a lot but what we have used it on it cuts very, very good, quickly, sharp with no hesitation. We cut wood for a kitchen wood cook stove.

  • The cutter
Light weight, great battery life and easy to change blades. Cut a fourteen inch fallen tree in the Smokey’s like it was butter and you don’t have to smell the gas

  • Dewalt should reimburse customers for this garbage
So many design flaws. It has power but the design flaws mean you wont be using this for very long. I've been using mine extensively for the past 3 years slicing pine, elm, sweetgum, post oak, etc. So I feel qualified to weigh in on this particular saw. The good: It has plenty of power to chew through 30" rounds without seizing up. Just keep the chain sharp and it will continue to cut. The bad: - There are 3 different places where oil leaks CRAZY bad. Not from the rubber seal that dispenses oil onto the bar. It leaks from the oil reservoir itself! To fix the leaks you'll need to disassemble the saw, clean everything, and use black RTV sealant around the reservoir fill collar, and the exit tubing. That stops MOST of the leaking, although it will still leak a little from the bar (all saws do that). This is due to a design flaw that Dewalt has worked to fix in later models. I just wish I didn't have to be the guinea pig. - The tool-less knob used for removing the bar cover broke almost immediately. Newer models ditched the tool less nonsense and now use a nut with onboard flat wrench. - The battery housing has the electrical contacts at the bottom facing upward. Well....That's where dirt, sawdust, and oil like to collect. The hole is too small to fit my hand inside which makes cleaning nearly impossible. - The saw is long and heavy I also have the 12" 20v model and the 8" pruner. Dewalt fixed the oil leaking problems with those newer models by redesigning the oil reservoir. They removed all the tool less crap replacing with actual nuts and a wrench. However, the 20v 12" saw is weak AF. When it feels too much resistance it just stops abruptly. To restart, you have to wait a few seconds for the chain to get back up to speed. It uses a slow start motor apparently. Over all I own 3 Dewalt chainsaws and dislike all of them. However, I am looking forward to the 2026 12" 60v model. I think that one will hit the sweetspot of being convenient, reliable, and powerful. ... show more
