  • Great Radio Ear Muffs
I had a pair of similar radio earmuffs from 3M that finally died after 20 years use. I bought a new set of the 3M and ended up returning them. Their new earmuffs have all kinds of fancy features including bluetooth, something I will never use while mowing. The volume knob was a clicker style that was not glove/user friendly. I saw these DeWalt muffs and bought them. They are exactly the same as my old. The radio works great, the volume is controlled easily by the large knob, the noise suppression is high, and they are very comfortable. All this for nearly a third of the price of the 3M ones! DeWalt for the win! ... show more

  • Wow....awesome wife cancelling technology.😆
I work for a company that picks up trash in York county pa. I do residential and commercial pickup. We pick up thousands of residential customers a week. In my travels I kept seeing people wearing these things working in their yards..washing their cars, working in their gardens, taking care of their lawns....even a few joggers and people walking their dogs. So..I started looking at radio head phone/hearing protection to use when I'm doing lawn work at my home. I cut an acre and a half every week. I've been. useing a pair of plain Jane ear muffs forever..I figured it was time for a change/upgrade... I bought my last pair of plain Jane's from a big box store...they were cheep, and not very comfortable to wear for two or so hours at a time...but tolerable, and they did keep the noise down. Shopping around... I saw prices ranged from$20 to well over$200... I bought these after reading reviews....MANY.... reviews, and seeing so many of them on the street. I found these to be very reasonably priced. They came quickly...were packaged very well..in New condition..and in original factory packaging. Unpacking was easy, and straight forward...just open the package. The little piece of folded paper in the package are the directions...READ THE DIRECTIONS!... read over the dialect your familiar with, there are a few choices...I'm sure there is one that can get most people through the set up of these headphones...read it a few times BECAUSE.... I did notice in some of the reviews...quite a few folks were complaining about getting the preset function set up..READ the directions... I took the screw loose on the battery compartment cover and installed two AA batteries...pretty straight forward. I found two stations that I listen to during the day at work...one is in Harrisburg..the other in York. Keep in mind that I'm setting the presets inside of my house...not outside...I'm sure reception will be even better outside.. Setting the presets is very easy..READ THE DIRECTIONS! The York station is about 12 air miles from the couch in my house...reception is very clear with no background/white noise..the Harrisburg station is roughly 50 air miles from the couch in my house...there is also a station on the same frequency in Baltimore city...also about 50 air miles south of the couch in my house...there's no bleed over from the Baltimore station...but there is a very small amount of background/white noise..very subtle...very tolerable...especially from a station 50 miles away. As far as the FM reception..over all...Very satisfied with the FM reception. As far as the AM I am receiving zero stations on the AM side. Again....realize I am sitting on my couch...inside my house..in a very difficult area not conducive to receive AM radio frequencies. I have no issues with this...I was not expecting to be able to receive AM considering the area my couch is located. As for the volume... I do remember reading some of the reviews that said there WERE some complaints about not enough volume... I don't need blood leaking from my ears type of volume levels... The volume...on this particular set of headphones.... is more than enough for my ears...especially considering the amount of there noise cancelling ability. Comfort is very good..the head band fits well, and is comfortable..the ear pads are soft and conform very well around my particular glasses and ears...very comfortable. They also apparently have excellent wife cancelling capabilities...I could tell by the very angry look on my beautiful wife's face just a few minutes ago... As of right now...with what I have experienced handling and setting up these headphones from my couch...I'm VERY happy with my purchase... I'm sure they will serve well for many years if I do my part taking care of them. ... show more

  • The only ones you'll need.
I work for a lawn care service and I wear earmuffs every day. My old ones were terrible and randomly shut off when I was out working. My boss ended their life one day by running them over with his ram 2500. I was mad until I remembered they were junk anyway. I bought these because I figured I'd get a better unit if I paid more. Out of the box they were pretty typical. Volume was good, foam was comfortable. I used them for a week until I left them in a customer's yard. As my luck would have it we got 2" of rain the next few days. I assumed it was an expensive mistake based on my last pair that got wet. The next week I came back and found them filthy and soaking wet. The screen was still lit up. Tried turning the radio on and heard Van Halen loud and clear. I still use them to this day. I run the snowblower and get covered in snow and it doesn't affect them at all. I would definitely recommend you get these ones. They're the best I've owned. ... show more

  • Not Worth the Money
I would rate this a minus one if it was shown. I purchased this radio headset in March of this year. The radio ceased to operate in October of this year. I contacted Dewalt twice on their customer service website because I believe this to be a defective product. It has been several weeks and the only reply I have received was they were reviewing my request, I own many quality DeWalt tools that are several years old, My expectation was that following in the DeWalt name this headset would be of equal quality and last several years. Unfortunately this was not the case. If you are considering purchasing a product like this I would recommend you consider an alternative--perhaps an analog version rather than digital and definitely not a DeWalt. ... show more

  • Poor quality muff construction
In February of 2017, I purchased these for my husband, his first set ever. He uses them during the summer months in New England while he mows on the Spaulding Turnpike...daily, M-F. It is now May 2018 and the ear muffs are falling off and have become very uncomfortable. He said they are perfect with this one exception. In searching for "replacement" ear muffs, I found only one so far that offers replacement muffs. I would give the muffs a rating of one star. For the price, these should last more than one season! What happened to quality first? Even though I give it a 4 star rating overall, I am extremely disappointed that the most important component, hearing protection, has failed after one summer season. They only offer a 90 day warrantee and it is most likely safe to assume all brands are in sync with this. I would recommend paying a few bucks more for the Amazon warrantee. With that said, I am probably going to purchase these again but with the warrantee...IF it covers the muffs. ... show more
