First time i have replaced tape. I usually let the bike shop do it. Time will tell on the quality of install but seemed pretty easy after watching videos. The only thing i had trouble with was getting the end taper cut right, i left it long on case i have to redo. I though the Cinelli tape might be too thin but is thicker than was hoping for and super happy with the feel, no breaking issues. I'll be replacing bar tape more often now. ... show more

So I'm modernizing a 40 year old Trek 736 road bike and I replaced the original narrow and deep drop road handlebars for a more modern "gravel bike" bar that's wider, less drop, and flared out. FWIW I bought the PRO Discover Big Flare 12 Degree drop bars from Amazon. To prepare I watched a few YouTube videos and my install went fine and looks great, not as good as a pro mechanic but for me it's good. The tape is thick enough that it gives you a good feel when you are gripping the bars but not so thick that it makes your handlebar feel lumpy. The tape has enough stretch to make the install pretty easy and I had plenty of tape to wrap both sides of the wider gravel style bars. ... show more
