Simply put you stick it into food it reads food temperature let it sit for at least three seconds for accurate reading let it sit a little longer 10 seconds for perfect reading it’s a little difficult to do while food is on the grill in your hand is above a grill that is 400° and rising but it gives an accurate reading and it truly is a game changer very affordable very cheap not cheap quality though I recommend it also has preset modes for all types of meat and tells you when to take it off and what temperature is well done and what temperature is rare ... show more

Works great, however, horrible for checking meat temps on a grill. You have to slide meat to the edge so your hand isn’t over the grill hot surface. A longer handle and sensor fork would be better for grill use. Temp reading fast, easy to clean. Easy to use.

Works great for those that want to make sure your food is cooked to your liking. Has settings to choose what type of meat you are cooking and the recommended temp for that. So quick and easy to check if the food is done. We never cook meat without it!

You can easily speed two or three times more for an instant read digital thermometer, but you will be hard pressed to beat this one for value or accuracy. I have had mine for more than three years and it still works as well as the day that I took it out of the box. I just love this thermometer. It's very accurate and extremely easy to use. It even allows you to set it for different doneness of beef and chicken, and sets off an alarm if the meat/chicken internal temperature goes about the level you set the thermometer at. Great buy!
