Format: Board book
When my two year old needed to switch from bed to crib after an escape attempt gone wrong, we used this book to prepare her. Together with waving goodbye to the crib as a family and reading this book it went very well.

  • This book was magic for us
Format: Board book
I read this book to my daughter every night before bed for 2 weeks before transitioning her from a crib to toddler bed. She related to Elmo, and I credit this book with making the switch to a big girl bed MUCH easier than I expected. I was so neverous, but the outcome was best case scenario for this first time mom. I have recommended this book specifically to a few friends. Get it! ... show more

  • Short and sweet transition to toddler bed
Format: Board book
Cute little board book - slightly larger than my hand (as pictured). The animation is really good and the pictures are really clear. The story line is good and exactly what we did to help our 2 year old transition from the crib to the toddler bed. I gave it 4 stars because the animation and story line are really good and you can’t beat $5 for a board book. Would have been 5 stars if there were a few more pages to the story - this is a really short story, even by toddler standards. ... show more

  • Worked for me!
Format: Board book
Perfect for helping any kid who loves Elmo transition from crib to bed. Short and to the point. A couple evenings I had the crib and bed set up in the same room and made sure to point to the crib when the book talked about it, and then point to the bed on the right pages. The transition was perfect... but I have a very easy kid. Your mileage may vary. ... show more

  • Awesome for transition to a big kid bed!
Format: Board book
I ordered this book to help with the transition from a crib to a big kid bed. We did all the things Elmo did in the book such as picking out new sheets, reading books before bed, bringing a special blankie, etc. My son loved it and wants to read it every night. We add my son's name so we say, "Elmo and Jacob" every time it talks about what Elmo does! Very cute book. ... show more

  • Awesome
Format: Board book
This book came in the mail TODAY. My son always gets excited about new books and recently discovered Elmo, so he made us read this to him a good 20 times before bedtime tonight...which we were happy to do, because we had decided to convert his crib to a toddler bed tonight. He is 2 (27 months, to be more precise), and we were very nervous about this transition, since he can be a stubborn, independent little guy. He started to squirm and protest bit as we were putting him down, but I just tucked him in and said "just like Elmo," hummed his favorite tune and left. He has not made a peep or shown any signs of getting out of bed after an hour. Fast asleep. Fantastic! I don't want to give the book ALL the credit (we do have a good bedtime routine and he was pretty tired), but I definitely think it made a difference! The story is very simple, just like Too Big for Diapers, which we also own and he also loves. When it comes to these kinds of transitions, sometimes simple is just better. Save the longer, more imaginative stories for fun...for teaching little kids, break it down in simple steps they can understand! This book does that beautifully! ... show more

  • Good supplement to a longer bedtime story.
Format: Board book
A short and sweet board book. Not much of a story, and a lot shorter that my twins or I had anticipated, but it was Elmo, and most kids seem to connect to Elmo. I read my own story to this book, and provided additional explanations to create a full experience about moving to a big bed. I also read another book along with this book, and the kids seemed to connect to that story better, as it was about the whole transition, including no longer cosleeping with parents. This book would be a good supplement for a book that provides a little more of a story. My 2 1/2 year old twins love to listen to me read, and this book wasn't long enough, as they asked for 'more stories'. ... show more
