Our unique Progressive Layering energy management system utilizes two separate layers of hard-shelled EPS foam in addition to Mips Evolve — enabling us to improve impact performance via multi-density foam and at the same time deliver a more compact overall shape, sleeker design and maximized ventilation. And thanks to a smart combination of the Mips layer and retention system, the Z20 sets a new standard in fit and comfort. Superb fit is further optimized with the Float Fit Race retention system, featuring height- and width-adjustable cradles and an intuitive, easy- to-use tension dial, and then finished off with our comfortable and sweat- wicking X-Static padding.     • Great fit. Super Comfortable.
I was wearing KASK Mojito because it was the only brand I could find fits generally rounder Asian heads. But as a sweat head the endless dripping inside my glasses really bothered me, although it's light and looks good. And then I came across the Z20 (Zephyr). I used to wear Bell motorcycle helmets and I loved it, so I decided to give it a try. Oh man! It feels like it's specifically made for my head. The MIPS is secure and with the retention dial in the back plus the flexibility of the structure, it sits on my head, tight, and I never feel caged. I basically forgot I wear a helmet. Well done, it lives up to the name Floating Retention. It is well ventilated and looks good, the size M doesn't make me look like a moving mushroom (sorry POD). It's not on the super light side but after about 40 miles ride today I didn't feel any upper back pain. The X-Static really does its job channeling the sweat to the very front. It's just like sitting under an eaves, you see the water dripping, close, but no cigar. I love the helmet and I highly recommend it to round-headed, sweat happy people like me. ... show more

    • Comfortable and channels sweat awash from eyes
Great helmet, fits very comfortably. I don't notice it when riding,no pressure or weight anywhere from the helmet or straps. The pads are comfortable and don't soak up sweat. The design does well channeling sweat away from my eyes and face, best that I've experienced from any helmet I've ever worn. Thankfully, I haven't crashed, so can't comment on the protection, but it should be as good or better than other bike helmets. Would definitely buy again. ... show more

Awesome helmet that fits better than any I have tried. My wife got me this helmet after I crashed a few months ago, split my other helmet (Rockbros) and got a subdural hematoma, a minor brain bleed. I have used several models of the Giro, the Rockbros and now this. I have a large head and I found the Giro was a little too narrow on the sides. It's comfortable for people with more round than oval shaped head. It was rated by Virginia Institute as one of the safest if you have the MIMPS feature. Helmet is light but not as light and well ventilated as the Specialized S-Works Prevai, l but just a little heavier but I don't find myself wishing for more vents or a lighter weight. Dropped my first Z20 and I liked it enough to buy another one to replace it, so I guess that says a lot. ... show more

    • Best helmet I've ever had...
I bought this helmet after doing a lot of research with comparisons to the best helmets available and what I have previously owned. Right out of the box, this helmet fit perfectly - I didn't even have to adjust the straps. Now I know that the straps were just a fluke, but after multiple rides, I can say this is the best helmet I've ever owned. It is super comfortable and doesn't move around while I ride. There are no pressure points to give me a headache, and the sweat channel works really well. I went with the discount color (matte black with pink accents), and although it's not my favorite, it is perfectly fine. 5 stars! ... show more

Helmet is great but I was sent a returned item with the packing opened and damaged. Helmet is very comfortable and ventilation is supreme. Only issue is with getting a previously returned item sold as new.

I bought this helmet after using my head to bash the side of my old one on the street. That one had MIPS, and I had no concussion, headache, stars, or anything, even though my arm and legs were scraped, bruised, and bleeding, and my neck and shoulder hurt for a week. I will stick with MIPS! This helmet is light and airy. I can feel the breeze on my head when I'm going really fast. I have long hair, and wear it in a ponytail when I ride. I have not had the issues other reviewers have reported. My hair has never gotten stuck or pulled. The helmet does not shift around. The chin strap has a holder for the loose end. I forget that I have it on. I do get some forehead marks, but I haven't taken the time to check out the other adjustments, as it fit fine out of the box with just a quick twist of the dial and some strap adjustment. The straps were easier to adjust than on some other helmets I tried. The only negative is that it doesnt have a visor. I miss that, both because of the sun protection and the holder for my "Take a Look" mirror, which I had to attach to my sunglasses instead. If I stay out too late and switch to clear safety glasses, I no longer have a mirror. That, however, is a choice. I knew there was no visor when I ordered the helmet. Just wanted to point that out. I wish they would add a removable visor. Oh yeah, the reflective paint (Ghost model only) works great! I'm posting a photo where I set it in the driveway at night and shone a flashlight on it. Update: Over a year later, still loving this helmet! ... show more

    • Working well
I have had this helmet for only a month or so and have put only a couple of hundred miles with it so far, but so far so good. I bought it to replace a helmet I destroyed in a bike crash. That one had the wavecell technology and that worked very well in keeping me from having a conclusion. But I decided to change brands and went with this helmet as a replacement for three reasons: 1) air flow--the wavecell helmet is hot and in summer where I live we commonly have 100 degree days--this helmet has much better ventilation, but it will be cooler in the winter; 2) the mips system . I am sold on paying a little more to reduce the probability of concussion and after my bike wreck--your brain is worth a little more investment; and 3) sweat management--this helmet does a pretty good job diverting the sweat out of my eyes--which was a problem with my previous helmet. I haven't used it on a 100 degree day yet, but so far this is working out pretty well. The helmet is comfortable, light, and easy to adjust. I wear a cap under it in cool weather, and it adjusts easily to accommodate my cap. So far so good ... show more
