This is my second Bagalini Calais. It is the perfect size for a cross body/ shoulder bag. The built in secure wallet holds everything i need securely. The main bag area is spacious and easily holds eyeglasses and all the other essentials i take with me. There are zippered pockets and a dedicated handy slot for my cell. I had been searching for a new purse for quite awhile. This one has most of what I like. I got French blue, which is very nice. It has a slight sheen to it and is pretty dark, almost looks black at times. It has a large main compartment which has a zippered compartment on one side. There is a slot compartment with magnetic closing on back of purse where I put my cell phone. In front of the main compartment is another zip compartment. I put my glasses here. In the very front is a wallet compartment. Outside is a flap with a turn latch. Under that is zip area for credit cards, cash bills, two pockets on other side of zip change compartment...lots of room. Also another zip pocket to the back of this wallet area. Baggalini is a quality product. Edit a few months later...still great, but I recently discovered an open slot in top of purse. Perfect for cell phone, but I put my glasses in it without a case. I have Bagallini bag from Marshall they look exactly the same except the strap is not removable, only one pocket in the front bag and no key holder and the bag is smaller. The bagallini bag that I ordered here i love it,the size the pockets and the main storage, the card holder hold perfectly. If you don't want to bring wallet this bag is perfect for your cards and money. This bag is exceptionally well made. Because it is nylon and not leather, it is also very light, and easy to wipe down if a spill should get on it. The details in the design make it really stand out. All of the zipper pulls have a satin finish and a uniquely friendly feel. Now that I have it in my hands, I realize how superior it is to the cheap bags that I have been purchasing. In my opinion, this bag is the perfect size - neither too small nor too large. There are lots of zippers and pockets and places for all of my items, including a slip-in pocket with a magnetic snap closure which is perfect for my cell phone. The lining is lovely and the center compartment of this purse is very roomy and well gusseted for expansion. This purse is the perfect size for me. It carries all my cards, money, and sunglasses with lots of room to spare, and the phone slot should be in every purse made. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and it cannot be seen outside the purse. Instructions are to only spot clean the purse, however, after a manicure I inadvertently touched the purse ending up with greasy lotion stains all over it. Spot cleaning made it worse and really unusable. So with nothing to lose, I thought I’d try washing it in the washer on gentle. It came out looking great, so into the dryer it went. Above are the photos after washing and drying. The only effect was a slight ripple in the outside zippers, but nothing anyone would notice. I did spray it with water repellent for future possible messy incidents. This is a last-resort recommendation so try the spot cleaning first. ... show more

I like this bag a lot. I like the adjustable strap, the pockets and the zippers, the organization, all of it. It's my everyday basic, practical, nice-looking bag for work. BUT I was surprised that after about a year and a half of use it looks so faded. Both the navy blue is lighter, and, on the magnetic closure/clasp on the front of the bag (a major ornamental feature) the silver has worn off to reveal a brassy color underneath. So if you like that antique, worn look....go for it. But I expect a bag I paid good money for to still look good after one year and a half (and I don't actually use it every day year round - I have a few other bags I switch it out with!) So I'll still use it cause it is so practical and just the right size, but I have to say i'm a bit sad about the way it looks now. ... show more
