Keep reading for full story: ====================== To be honest, I had negative experience on this type of small lithium-ion battery based jump starter couple years ago, when I failed to jump start 3.5L V6 MDX with dead and/or bad battery with this type of jump starter. Over the past decade, I have tried/owned/used several battery based jump starter and jump cable and had success and failure. From all those experience, I learned my impression on this type of tiny lithium-ion battery based jump starter might be incorrect and my negative experience might not be the issue of the jump starter, but it's the limitation of the jump starting method. Now my current big battery jump starter finally reaches to the end of its life, and I decide to give the small lithium-ion battery based jump starter one more try. After the research, I ordered this AVAPOW Jump Starter Car Battery 2500A Peak for its good price, big 22.8AH battery, led light and wireless cellphone charger. It arrived fast on the next day and I immediately charged it to full capacity. Now it's the time to examine my theory on jump-starting. I disconnected the car battery, and connect this jump starter. Boom! It INSTANTLY STARTED THE 4.7L V8 of 2004 LX470 in JUST ONE CRANK! As a comparison, it generally took 2~3 cranks with the fresh car battery to start. And the battery shows 98% after starting. Why it may fail as other reviewer experienced? ==================================== When the battery in the car is dead and/or bad, it's very hard to jump start the engine regardless of the method or the tools. I tried big battery jump-starter, big jump cable to a fresh car battery, big jump cable to a fresh car battery with engine running, charging the dead battery for 15 minutes and then with the engine running and all the other ways you could thought. None of those methods/tools could always jump-start the engine once THE BATTERY WAS DEAD/BAD! Why? It's because a big portion of jumping current (amperage) was "eaten" by the bad/dead battery. Therefore the actual jumping capacity delivered to the car starter might be below the threshold for the car starter to do the job. The fix is very simple although. Just disconnect the negative pole of the bad/dead battery before jump-starting. You could connect it back once the engine is running. This way will pretty much guarantee a success jump-starting. I researched the negative reviews before the purchase, and concluded it's the issue for all those complaining this jump starter could not even start a small 4 cylinders engine. People are just too lazy to figure out the cause, and I hope my research could help you understand how and not to pass such a high quality/function product at a very reasonable price. Other thought: ============ The jump starter comes with a sturdy case to keep everything you need in a safe place. And everything seems well manufactured and high qualify. One thing I wish it should include is a high qualify high capacity charger. It can be charged by any standard USB charger which most people should have had couple of. However, it will be more convenient to include one in the package. Highly recommended.

DOA. 888 on LED. Did not change with charging. Got a refund from Amazon and bought another one. This time, when I pulled it from the box, the LED read 79% and the strobe light worked. I plugged it in and it has now recharged to 100%. Tomorrow, I will try starting my car. Like a previous reviewer, I didn't read the instructions first. After reading them, I tried again. The second time, the car started up. This car had been dead for about a month. The first time, I was too slow to get behind the wheel and the Jump Starter timed out. I wish that time-out was longer. I am not as young and spry as I used to be, so I deducted a star for the short time-out period plus I think it should have come with the USB charger. This Jump Starter is way lighter and smaller than the previous one I had (probably used a lead-acid battery).
