I've been wearing these pretty much nonstop since they arrived. The fit is exactly what I was looking for - relaxed without being baggy, and they hit right at my natural waist which is really flattering. The fabric is seriously soft, like the kind you want to live in on weekends. What I love most is how versatile they are. I wear them for morning walks, running errands, lounging around the house - they work for everything. The pockets are deep enough to actually hold my phone and keys, which seems obvious but you'd be surprised how many shorts fail at this basic requirement! The drawstring is nice too because I can adjust the fit depending on whether I'm just relaxing or being more active. The length is modest without being frumpy (I'm 5'0" and they hit mid-thigh on me). They move really well and don't ride up or feel restrictive. I've washed them several times and they've held up perfectly - no pilling or fading. Honestly might grab another pair in a different color because these have become my go-to. Highly recommend if you want comfortable shorts that actually look put-together!

These shorts have quickly become my go-to pair for workouts and casual wear. The fabric is incredibly soft with just the right amount of stretch. With the moisture-wicking material, they stay comfortable and dry even during longer walks or light workouts. The relaxed fit is exactly what I was hoping for. They sit comfortably at the waist without digging in, and the slight A-line shape gives them a super flattering look. The inseam feels perfect—not too short, not too long. The elastic waistband with the drawcord makes it easy to get the fit just right, and the front pockets are actually useful, not just decorative. They’ve held up great in the wash and still feel as soft as when I first got them. Whether I’m warming up, going for a jog, or just running errands, these shorts are comfortable, cute, and incredibly versatile. I already bought 2 more.

These shorts are very soft (buttery soft!) and comfortable. I got them to be pajama shorts for me in the summer, though they would also work well for exercising. They are super stretchy. The inseam on the small is about 3 inches (a bit over), which is a tad shorter than I would prefer but it works for me for bedtime, rather than wearing out and about. I also love that they have deep pockets! They do have a functional drawstring but I haven't needed to really use it as the waistband is plenty stretchy. The color goes with almost everything, which is helpful. They are very lightweight and would roll up easily to go in a gym bag without taking up much space. The only thing I would change about these would be for them to be made of natural fibers. Instead they are made completely from synthetic fibers. I have concern about plastic clothing turning into microplastics that affect the body and the environment, which is why I try to minimize the amount of clothing we own made of plastic. Over all, these are comfy and a great value.

I almost got a medium in these Amazon Essentials shorts and am so glad I went with the small. The small fits me like a medium so a medium would have been far too big. Other than the sizing, these shorts are great. The fabric is super soft and is thicker than other workout shorts/pants I have. The pockets are generously sized and large enough to hold my phone (though it is not secure). The drawstring cinches up the waist fine. I have washed and worn these and there has been no deterioration of any type. Seams stay intact, drawstring stays in place, fabric washes just fine. Speaking of the seams, they are all finished well and there are no hanging threads, unfinished ends, or bulky or itchy areas. Everything about these shorts feels good on my skin. I actually really like using these for lounging or sleep shorts. I like them enough to get another color in an X-small!

I always need more pairs of shorts for both exercise and lounging, so I ordered these Amazon Essentials Soft Performance Shorts in size small in the color Space Dye Black. I find the shorts to be true to size and very comfortable with a soft, cottony fabric. I usually choose small, and I’m 5’3” and approximately 125 lbs., and generally wear a size 6 in pants. I found these shorts fit perfectly, although of course with this fabric and design there’s a lot of room for adjustment. The shorts sit easily at my natural waist and the non-stretchy drawstring allows some adjustment. I like the space dye black, which is a dark gray marl. The fabric of the shorts is soft and feels cottony, although it’s mostly polyester. I’m happy to see at least some of the fabric content is recycled. The fabric is very stretchy, which makes it comfortable and easy to move in. I had no problem doing yoga poses in these. The pockets are deep enough to actually use for small items and surprisingly accommodate my smartphone quite well, although I’d likely not keep it in there during exercise. The construction and stitching quality is OK. There are a few loose threads and dropped stitches, but it’s generally acceptable for a piece of clothing in this price range. The shorts feel like they’ll last at least a couple of years. Overall, I’m happy with the fit and comfort of these shorts and I think the price is about average for the quality of item.
