I wasn’t expecting much at this price point, but these Amazon Basics speakers really impressed me. The sound is clear and surprisingly full for the size, with nice highs and mids. While the bass isn’t super deep, it’s more than enough for everyday use like music, movies, and gaming. I love the blue lighting — it adds a nice touch to my desk setup without being too flashy.     • Great little desktop speakers
I needed a set of small speakers for my Mac Mini 4. The Mac's tiny internal speaker just wasn't sufficient for my needs. I don't need audiophile quality, which is good because these speakers are not at that level. They do, however, produce pretty decent sound with a touch of bass. My workspace is somewhat enclosed so it acts like a passive subwoofer which works out for me. The speakers have a light blue light that illuminates the base. This can be turned on/off via the dongle which also has volume control. The speakers were packaged well and a fairly high-quality multi-language manual was provided. Hookup was a snap. There was an open USB-A port on my monitor to provide power to the speakers. As soon as I hooked them up they went into pairing mode. All that was needed was to have the Mac seek new Bluetooth devices and they paired immediately. Simple. The cord length is plenty for a desktop and the cord for the dongle is long enough to keep it positioned near the monitor within easy reach (or just hide it). For this price point I really can't complain and, honestly, the sound is better than I expected. The speakers also respond pretty well to adjustments via the equalizer in Music. Don't expect too much and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Recommended. ... show more

    • Real good sound for the price
These were recommended on multiple places around the internet as very economical speakers that sounded good. My wife needed to replace her '90s vintage speakers with something better so I got these and she was not disappointed. They're very small and half a minimum of wire that needs to be rooted around. I used stuff USB transformer instead of plugging them into the computer for power and then we just use Windows' Bluetooth and connected them and that was all there was to it. They sound quite nice and are very clear. I mean you're not going to get any room rattling bass out of them but they have a good range across what you need to hear things clearly and to get good response with music. It's nice to have the volume control right there in the ability to turn the lights if you don't want them but the light is really nice and it's not super bright. I imagine my wife would have given these five stars and the only reason I gave at four is because personally I'd like a little bit punchier base but really you can't expect that for such an economical price. I am actually quite impressed with the Amazon Basics Bluetooth and USB Computer Speakers. The speakers are actually quite heavy (more so than they appear at first glance). I am also pleased with the sound quality. Certainly, I would not expect speakers of this size and price point to reproduce Concert Hall quality sound and would not plan to use them for watching movies, concerts or other complex sound intensive events. Yes, bass is not a forte for these speakers, but for general PC sound and even some basic music, these are more than adequate. They are capable of playing at near 100% volume without major distortion. For my needs, I typically have the volume set between 50-75%. For this level of sound, these speakers do not disappoint. Available USB ports on my PC are limited, so I opted to plug the USB into an adapter into a wall outlet. I fully expected to need to run an AUX cable in order get the sound from my PC. However, these connected immediately to my PC's Bluetooth and starting playing. So, no cable needed! There are some comments regarding the wired connection between the speakers and the control pod. I personally don't have a problem with that. I placed the speakers on either side of my monitor (see photo) and laid the control pod underneath the monitor. While out of the way, the controller is easily accessible (more so than either of the speakers) to adjust the volume (but I find just using the Sound Mixer option on my task bar to be easier) and control the accent lighting (which is a nice plus for these). 5 STARS AND I DO RECOMMEND THIS ITEM I write honest reviews based on real life experience with each item to help others make informed purchases.     • Lightweight portable computer speakers that hit the mark!
The media could not be loaded. These Amazon Basic speakers are great. Size is perfect, volume and sound clarity to my expectations, and the value for the money is definitely there! They are bluetooth capable however I chose to connect via auxiliary speaker wire to provide better audio and to lower latency. I've had absolutely no issues with getting the sound I want.     • Doesn't sound as good as the similar looking one
There's a similar item from Amazon that is highly rated but doesn't have bluetooth or an auxiliary connection. I tried that one and those speakers are really good. But having a bluetooth and auxiliary connection was really important to me so I eventually returned it. Note that this version has very few reviews and isn't as highly rated. To my surprise both versions of the speakers sound different. The highly rated one sounds really good. It was loud and like totally banging. This bluetooth version is a lot weaker and even how it sounds is different. You know when speakers have a limited number of watts to produce music? Well this speaker sounds like that, like it didn't have enough power, like the music wasn't rich and full. Also, this thing doesn't supply you with an auxiliary cable, which I fortunately had. ... show more
