I bought my 8 year old these sticks as he's starting playing the drums. Regular sticks were too long and heavy, and he was choking up on them, causing issues with his speed and rhythm. These 13" sticks are very light and fit his hands nicely. I've bought him a pair in red and a pair in green, and he digs the colors. They are well balanced and free of splinters. One word of warning- these sticks are NOT heavy duty enough for an adult to use unless you play pretty lightly. I don't think they will break under normal kid usage, but they aren't punk-band worthy, IMO. But then, that's not what they're designed for. ... show more
